On the day that Gordon Brown announced he wish to appointed Sir Alan Sugar to the House of Lords and rename him Lord Sugar it was also reported that Margaret Mountford had handed in her notice as Lord Sugar's right-hand woman to concentrate on her PhD in old papyrus documents.
Margaret Mountford will leave the show on a high in this evening's final. But the producers will have a real problem finding a suitable replacement. They will find it difficult to find someone better than mouthy Ruth Badger who Sugar should have hired in series two.
