Lemar wins third place
Lemar made it to the final show on 13th December.
He sang the Al Green song Let's Stay Together. Carrie said: "There is no-one in the academy who interprets a song like Lemar." Richard said that Lemar was the best person to step up to the plate singing British soul in the last twenty years.
Later in the show he sang Lullaby, a song he co-wrote with Ainslie and which is on the Fame Academy album. Unfortunately he was not able to sing it with Ainslie. Kevin said: "Lemar loves a live audience. I hope it worked down the lens." Pam said: "If it's released as a single, I think it's really strong. With his voice he could sell anything."
Both David and Sinead had won more of the four million votes that had been made at that stage of the evening. Lemar had won third place.
Lemar and Camilla
After Ashley House was voted out of the house he let on: "Lemar Obika and Camilla Beeput get on very well - and they're very touchy-feely. Good luck to them because they make a lovely couple."
Later in the series Camilla came back into the academy for a surprise reunion and the microphones caught them having a quick snog out of sight of the cameras. Lemar would have some serious explaining to do with his girlfriend.
Lemar record deal
Lemar signed a five-album deal with Sony.
He signed with manager Richard Griffiths, who launched Dido's career.
Lemar is forgiven
Lemar's girlfriend has taken him back. After the final Fame Academy show, Lemare pleaded with Charmaine Powell to forgive him after his canoodle with Camilla.
The Fame Academy Cameras caught Lemar leading Camilla off to an area not seen by cameras but with their microphones still on. Viewers heard them snogging.
Charmaine did not turn up at the next show despite Lemar dedicating a song to her.
Lemar is the star
Lemar was awarded the coveted grade A in the second week and sang Let's Stay Together on the Friday show.
In the fourth week Lionel Richie and Lemar performed Easy together on Fame Academy. They sang The Commodores and Faith No More hit before voting began on whether to evict Pippa, Katie or Nigel.
