Royal weddings are a breeze for Kate Middleton

Attending her second royal wedding sans Prince William Kate Middleton seems to be getting into the royal swing of things. Or at least her skirt certainly has. To the delight of photographers Kate had a Monroe moment when a breeze lifted her skirt as she and other guests walked to Queen's chapel in London for the ceremony. A minor slip-up, surely? If the palace truly is advising her on royal conduct they must have forgotten to add the Queen's trick of weighing down a skirt by placing pennies in the hem.

What's that old saying? Always the royal's guest but never the royal bride? But all teasing aside, while the majority of royal watchers have been convinced of an engagement between Prince William and Kate Middleton for years others remain unconvinced of that such an event will happen anytime soon--if at all. However, her attendance at this second royal wedding will be seen by many as a significant sign that the next royal wedding may very well be hers.

Lest we let the bride and groom be overshadowed further . . .

The wedding was of the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester's daughter, Lady Rose Windsor who is 23rd in line to the throne, and George Gilman. Lady Rose, who works as a film art assistant, wore a tiara that has been passed down from Queen Mary. Her dress was designed by Franka Couture. Although they grew up beside their cousin in Kensington Palace neither Princes William or Harry were able to attend the wedding both having military commitments overseas. But the royal family was well represented by the Count and Countess of Wessex, the Princess Royal (who wore the same dress to todays wedding as she did to Prince Charles and Lady Diana's some 27 years ago) and her son and daughter-in-law Peter and Autumn Phillips as well as Lady Gabriella and her brother Lord Freddie Windsor.
