Battle of the finals: Britain's Got Talent beats I'd Do Anything

The final of Britain's Got Talent was a ratings success for ITV1 on Saturday evening.

11.0 million watched the main show and 13.1 million watched the results show - 1.9 million more than the audience for last year's final - and higher than the audiences earlier in the series.

In comparison, 5.1 million watched the main show in the final of I'd Do Anything on BBC One and 6.9 million watched the results show. The series had not managed to increase its audience since the second live show this year when the main show was watched by a record audience of 6.8 million.
