Prince Harry and Chelsy Davy are enjoying a safari holiday in Botswana with their friends. They were spotted barefoot at the Old Bridge Backpackers bar just outside Maun. They group then headed off into the sunset to begin a 500-mile powerboat cruise across the Okavango Delta. Chelsy, who has been traveling around South America on Gap Year, along with her brother Shawn and a group of friends had just arrived in Botswana to join Harry.
Said an onlooker, "They were larking about, swigging beer and smoking cigarette's and looked just like any other young carefree couple off travelling the world. At one point Harry picked up Chelsy on his back and headed off round the site.
"Then they had a few drinks with their friends in the shade of the trees and Chelsy enjoyed another cuddle with a little beagle puppy."
According to News of the World Harry arrived in Botswana two weeks ago and stayed on the estate of Tania Jenkins, owner of AfriScreen Films who produced the award-winning documentary, Planet Earth. For a week Harry, who recently revealed a dream of being a safari guide in Africa, woke at 4am and to travel with Jenkins to an isolated airstrip where they flew out to show Harry how her company tracks wildlife nature films.
Says a source, "Harry's been very keen to pick up tips on how the company works. He's a very hands-on type of guy and likes to get stuck in. He's not an academic but this is really his thing. It's what he likes to do."
News of the World (who are a little lose with their facts if you read the article below) are calling this holiday Harry's bid to win back Chelsy Davy after the same paper published news and photos of a night out in a Canadian bar. According to a royal source speaking to the News of the World, "Harry is in a grovelling mode at the moment. He knows he made a poor judgement call being pictured with those girls in Canada and wants to make it up to Chelsy. He sees this holiday as the perfect way of really getting back on her right side again. He and Chelsy have been to Botswana three times before. It brings back happy memories for both of them."
"Harry has just wanted to stay out of the limelight so leaving Britain was the only feasible way. And no one recognises him in Africa. He puts his cap and sunglasses on and doesn't get any bother."
