Strictly Come Dancing - Series 5 - Saturday 15th December - Semi-final

Semi final night and the pressure was on! This week the three remaining couples had to perform the Argentine Tango as well as another dance.

Alesha and Matt opened the show with a wonderful quickstep perfomed to Amy Winehouse's song, Valerie. The dance was very technical yet she mastered it all! They were rewarded a 9, 9, 10 and 10 giving them a spectacular total of 38!

Matt and Flavia followed and after a very disappointing last week Matt had to really pull out all the stops this week! They performed their Argentine Tango (Flavia's special dance!) He received a lot of praise but it was also commented that it perhaps lacked a bit of the passion and drama that it should have. Nevertheless they received a reasonable total of 35.

Gethin and Camilla performed their paso doble next. It started with a very "unique" and interesting beginning involving Camilla having the cape draped over her head! The judges had mixed comments but they were given 34 points with an 8, 8, 10 and 8.

Alesha and Matt began the second dances of the evening. They performed their Argentine Tango which is supposedly harder for the female celebrities. She was criticised for not giving it perhaps enough attack, however Arlene said that she is without doubt, one of the best story tellers they had ever had on strictly. They received two 9s and two 10s giving them a total of 38!

Matt and Flavia performed their Waltz next and absolutely stunned the judges! They were awarded a perfect score: STRAIGHT 10s! ... Not much more to add to that!

Finally, Gethin and Camilla had to come out after Matt's performance and perform their final dance: the Argentine Tango. They receives straight 9s, giving them a total of 36.
