Big Brother 9 launched yesterday to a fall in ratings.

Big Brother 9 was launched on Channel 4 last night to a slight drop in ratings.

The show, hosted by Davina McCall, was watched by an estimated 5.4m viewers which is a slight drop compared to the 6.2m viewers who tuned into the launch show last year. The figures for the opening show also took into account those who watched on Channel 4+1.

In the latest series of Big Brother 16 contestants are competing to win the prize of £100,000.
