Prince Harry speaks about his new charity

Prince Harry has returned to the impoverished kingdom of Lesotho this week to launch his new charity “Sentebale” and to visit the Mants'ase Children's Home to which he travelled two years ago on his first trip to Lesotho.

Prince Harry, totally at ease in front of the world's media showed a mature side far removed from his playboy image. The Prince spoke about his new charity in Lesotho to support children orphaned by Aids.

The prince said he hoped to be able to look back in years to come and see the difference he had made.

Prince Harry revealed: “Sentebale does mean ‘forget me not’ and it’s a way that both me and Prince Seeiso can relate to our mothers, who were both in sort of the same jobs working with orphaned children.”

“As I said last year or two years ago, I wanted to carry on as best I could what my mother started and what better place than to do it than here?”

Asked if he thought his mother would be proud, he said with a smile: “I hope so.”

Sentebale, which is taking over from the British Red Cross Lesotho Fund, will begin its operations in full this summer with Prince Harry probably joined by Prince William playing some polo matches in order to raise money for the charity.

"I suppose it's one time when you can really use your name to raise money. And if I'm going to use it for anything what more of a better opportunity than to use it here," he said.
