Andy and Sun readers
Sun readers had been voting in a poll in the week leading up to the show on 1st November. They demonstrated their knowledge of contestants in this year's Pop Idol by giving Andy only 4.4% of the vote.
The Sun said: "Ex-pop star Andy Scott-Lee, 23, is favourite for the boot tonight when the contestants sing a song from the year of their birth."
In the Saturday show Andy sang She's Out Of My Life.
Foxy was the first judge to comment: "Vocally that was not good," he intoned. The audience booed. Then Foxy added: "It was excellent!"
Pete said: "You pick the best songs and you sing them the best." Then he commented on the newspaper article and said: "They know bugger all about the music industry."
Andy in the final twelve
Andy's sister is Lisa who was in Steps and his girlfriend is Michelle from Liberty X.
He sang the George Michael classic Careless Whispers in the show on 11th October. He topped the poll with 21.1% of the votes to win a place in the final twelve.
Foxy said: "I think you did really well. But I thought the song was too big for you."
Nicki said: "You don't have the strongest voice."
Pete told him: "I think you did a good job. That song may be your downfall.
Simon added: "I think towards the end we saw a hint of what you are capable of."
Andy is voted out
Andy was voted out of the show on 15th November.
With the theme of disco, Andy has chosen to sing Rock With You.
Foxy told him: "Vocally I thought you were great but the performance was a bit lacking."
Andy quipped: "I think it's my trousers. They're a bit tight!"
Simon was dismissive: "Mediocre."
Andy and Susanne had the least votes from the viewers. Susanne was just saved and Andy was voted out.
If You're Not the One
Andy demonstated his tremendous vocal range by risking the Daniel Bedingfield hit in the first showdown on 25th October.
Foxy thought his peformance was really good.
Nicki said: "I think it's a difficult one to pick because of the [vocal] range and you managed to pull it off."
Pete said: "You sung it brilliant"
Simon was more doubtful. He said: "I'm not sure how good that would have sounded on TV."
3SL
Andy was in the band 3SL along with his two brothers, Steve and Ant. The name of the band comes from their surname, Scott Lee.
3SL's debut single Take It Easy was a top 10 success, and their follow up, Touch Me Tease Me, got to number 16.
