Popstars: The Rivals on 30th November

First up was Sarah with Holding Out For a Hero. Pete said: "She gave it 140%. 100% was good enough for me. Brilliant singing." Geri said: "I'd definitely put you in the band." Louis said: "I think she's fantastic but what people at home don't know is that she was sick today."

Nadine's song was I Wanna Dance With Somebody. Geri said: "It's a bit ironic that she picked that song because she doesn't like dancing very much." Louis said: "You know I like her. I think she's fantastic." Pete admitted he was not as good a dancer as Nadine and added: "She shone throughout the competition."

Kimberley sang Chain Reaction. Louis said: "I thought she did a fantastic performance. Well done Kimberley." Geri said:"I think that Kimberley has taken a huge about of rap this week in the press. They got it wrong. They said she was a diva." Louis added: "We've got no divas in the band."

Nicola was up next with I'm So Excited. Pete said: "That's song's a really difficult song. She walked it." Geri said: "If we saw the beginning of the series we'd see how far Nicola has progressed. But I think you're dressing too old for 17." Louis said: "I think she's getting better and better all the time and I like it when she smiles. I'm glad she got a second chance."

Javine sang I'm Every Woman. Afterwards she said she was nervous. Geri said: "A bit of nerves is good. It gives you that little bit of juice." Louis said:" I think she's a great performer and she has to make the band." Pete said: "There's nothing I can say. It's a wonder you ever got nervous."

The last girl to sing was Cheryl with Right Here Waiting. Davina asked her why she shook her head - her head had only moved slightly at the end of her performance. The judges all then implied that Cheryl gave a weak performance by not commenting on it. Louis said: "Cheryl said to me you have to have a Geordie in the band. I want this Geordie in the band and I want all the Geordies to vote for her because that's the only way she's going to get in." Geri said: "I think she's gorgeous, very photogenic and so emotional." Pete said: "I think this is one of the nicest kids in the competition and I felt for her tonight."

After the break, Davina said that the first member of the band was Cheryl. You have never seen anyone so emotional. Davina said: "Something tells me you weren't expecting to be announced first." The next girl in was Nicola. Third was Nadine. Fourth was Kimberley.

That left Sarah and Javine. Louis said: "I was surprised that Cheryl got through." Geri said: "These two girls gave the strongest performance this evening." Pete said: "A hell of a way to finish the series."

After a break Davina announced that the fifth member of the band was Sarah. Javine was left out. The super-cool Javine showed almost no emotion before she sang I'm Every Woman again.

Davina then said the band would be called Girls Aloud - not Girls Allowed.
