Harry's Bio: Robert Jobson publishes book about soldier prince

In his third royal biography, 'Harry's War: The True Story of Prince Harry's Heroism in Afghanistan' biographer Robert Jobson has already got Harryite hearts pounding, not least because the book reads like a cross between a romance novel and a Rambo movie. But that's really no surprise considering the air of high drama and occasional make-believe that can be found in Jobson's last two royal biographies.

As the co-author of 'Diana: Closely Guarded Secret' written by Princess Diana's former bodyguard Ken Wharfe and as the author of 'William's Princess: The Love Story that will Change the Royal Family Forever' (which came complete with a Photoshoped image touted as Kate Middleton's first meeting with Queen Elizabeth but was actually Kate's head superimposed on Melinda Gates body) there is something of an air of infamy surrounding Robert Jobson and some of his hard-to-believe exclusives. It was shocking when the respected royal watcher co-authored a book many believed disrespectful towards Princess Diana and her sons. It was amusing when Prince William and Kate Middleton's break-up came about shortly after his book about their future would be monarchy-changing marriage hit the bookstores. But that's not to say it's all smoke and mirrors.

He is after all the award winning journalist who surprised his fellow royal watchers when he leaked the shocking news that Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowels had become engaged. Something which was first denied not only by Clarence House but by other royal watchers everywhere who doubted such a union would ever be possible . . . Charles and Camilla are now three years into their second marriage. Obviously Robert Jobson knows how to get the goods, but his delivery as a royal biographer could use some work. His talent as a royal novelist, however, is unsurpassed. Intertwining facts and interviews with an imagined insight, 'Harry's War' may not be a straightforward royal biography, and it probably isn't even completely accurate, but it is an exciting read.
