Harry and Chelsy spotted in LondonPrince Harry, with Chelsy Davy back at his side, was photographed in London this morning as he left a party (organized by his friend and mentor Mark Dyer) held in his honor. In spite of the best efforts of paparazzi and TV crews waiting outside the Prince of Wales' Highgrove Estate in Gloucestershire it was the first time Harry has been photographed in public since returning home from Afghanistan on Saturday. Chelsy joined Harry and his father and brother in Gloucester on Saturday after requesting a weeks leave from her postgraduate studies. Friends say the couple has a lot of catching up to do. And plenty of catching up they've done! For the past 4 days the couple have stayed in Gloucestershire. Harry, like all returned soldiers, has been given a two-week leave to rest and recuperate after his 2 and a half-month deployment. On returning home to Highgrove, Harry is said to have jumped straight into a hot bath and then enjoyed a meal of bangers and mash; two things he'd longed for while in Afghanistan. Friends say that Harry and Chelsy, widely reported to have split up in November, have since patched up their relationship; helped in no small part by Harry's unexpected deployment to a war zone in December. Prince Harry is reported to have carried a picture of Chelsy and spoke proudly to the other soldiers of his "very pretty girlfriend" back at home. The couple is also reported to have shared a number of tearful phone calls during his deployment. Said a friend, "There have been many times in the past few weeks when she has sobbed down the phone. When we asked her about it she said Harry set her off because he was emotional, too. Her nerves have been on edge because she has no way of reaching him and every time her phone goes it is a nightmare. "Like any girlfriend with someone they care about serving on the front line, her emotions were all over the place. She always had that dread over, 'What if?'" |
