The Talk of Cape Town: Prince Harry joins Chelsy's parents for "serious discussions"Prince Harry has resurfaced in Cape Town, South Africa where he was spotted in town with Chelsy and her parents Charles and Beverley Davy. Wearing the American baseball cap with the motto "We Do Bad Things To Bad People" which he'd traded a fleece jumper for; Harry and the Davy's were seen strolling around Cape Town browsing the shops and enjoying a spot of golf at a seafront pitch-and-putt. Chelsy and Harry have spent the past 3 weeks together and friends are saying the couple is closer then ever. But it was Harry's "serious" discussion with Chelsy's parents, which has some wondering if the next royal engagement might not be Prince William's after all. Shortly after arriving in Cape Town from Botswana, Chelsy and Harry were pictured enjoying an evening with Chelsy's friends at her parents Durban apartment. Photographed smoking on the balcony--the same balcony where he and Chelsy were first pictured kissing 4 years ago--Prince Harry stubbed out rumors that he's managed to quit the habit. Wednesday evening the couple joined Chelsy's parents for drink's at the five-star Table Bay Hotel located on Cape Town's beautiful Victoria & Albert Waterfront. Although Chelsy and her mother preferred a merrier evening Harry and Charles Davy spent most of the night having a serious discussion with each other. Said a patron, "Although mother and daughter were getting happier and happier, it was clear that some discussions were going on between the prince and Chelsy's father. Harry was doing a lot of the talking and he was listening to what he had to say." The next morning Harry--minus Chelsy--joined the Davy's for breakfast on the hotel's patio. According to another guest the three shared what looked like a very serious conversation before the Prince's bodyguard noticed a paparazzo nearby and the group moved indoors. Said the guest, "They were engaged in what was clearly a very serious and very frank discussion. I could not hear what Harry was saying, but he was clearly having a very serious chat and they [Chelsy's parents] were listening carefully. They were also asking him a lot of questions, listening very carefully to his answers." The seriousness of the discussions has led some to believe that there may be an engagement between the two sometime in the near future (where have we heard this before?). Personally, however, I think it's a little unlikely that Prince Harry would discuss a possible engagement in such public places. As difficult as it was for onlookers to hear! But that is not to say an engagement is unlikely. The couple has been dating for 4 years and although their relationship has gone through its ups and downs friends say the couple are closer then ever. However with a year left of studies ahead of her, post-graduate and press-shy Chelsy may not be in any hurry to tie the knot with her prince charming just yet. Harry and the Davy's are believed to be staying at the home of family friend Gerrit Thomas Ferreira who owns the Tokara Wine Estate located just outside Cape Town. Prince Harry is currently on leave after returning home from Afghanistan and Chelsy is on Easter break from her studies at Leeds University. Both are expected to return to the UK shortly. |
