Summer lovin' happened so fast: Caroline and Harry split just as dating gossip begins

Just as we were wondering if they might be a couple British tabloids announced the breakup of Prince Harry and television presenter Caroline Flack. The pair was first spotted together in April leaving a card party at a friend's flat in London. They were spotted a second time earlier this month as they left the Troubadour nightclub.

Friends of Caroline said the singletons hit it off at the card party and Caroline--who was reported to have given Harry the nickname Jam, because he's "red and sweet"--told friends she thought he was cute. The feeling seems to have been mutual. Said a friend, "Caroline loves boys who make her laugh. Harry is very funny and texts her jokes all the time from an internet site he's found. It's a casual fling at the moment, but they like each other. They were talking about going to Cornwall this summer."

So what went wrong?

According to the tabloids Prince Harry ended their brief romance because he is still missing Chelsy Davy telling a friend, "I lost the best thing that ever happened to me and I'm paying for it." Since Chelsy broke off their 5-year relationship in January there have been reports of Harry hoping to keep up their relationship. Nevertheless this hasn't stopped newspapers linking Harry to every girl who gets near him. And a few who haven't! Caroline Flack, having managed to be spotted with him more then once, was looking to be the best contender. Or was she?

Just a day before The Sun said Harry had broken off with her The News of the World published an article (which has since been pulled from their website) titled, The Shock truth About Caroline. Complete with private pictures, the article painted the 29 year-old as a wild girl about town with an impressive list of famous ex-boyfriends who's provocative--but fortunately clothed--poses for magazines were likely to raise a few eyebrows in the palace.

Too racy for the royals? Where have we heard that before?
