Strictly Come Dancing - Gillian Taylforth and Anton du Beke foxtrot out of the competition

Although the foxtrot is one of the most elegant of ballroom dances, tonight’s dance-off between Gillian Taylforth & Anton du Beke and Jodie Kidd & Ian Waite was actually quite tedious this evening. I personally actually preferred Gillian and Anton’s routine, which although lacking in technical skills was more fun to watch.

Jodie and Ian put in more high kicks and obviously had improved vastly since their first showing, but I find Jodie uncomfortable to watch for some reason – it could be because she really doesn’t look as though she’s enjoying the experience one little bit. Let’s hope she cheers up a bit next week for the girls’ group dance.

However, what I really, really don't understand is how Jessie Wallace picked up more votes and avoided the dance-off altogether - she was the worst by far last night and should have gone home really. She's surely not going to be this year's Kate Garraway is she?

It’s the boys turn to dance individually again next week, when they will perform either a tango or a jive – should be an interesting week.
