MusicAlexandra Burke's single Hallelujah topped the UK singles chart on 21st December. The Jeff Buckley version released only as a download was number two. Over an hour after the excitement of the first part of tonight's finals ... and after months of auditions ... weeks of live shows ... rumour and controversy ... it's the Results! The evening starts with all 12 finalists back on stage for Ain't No Mountain High Enough. Then we are straight into Round 1, and the cheese of the Christmas songs. Operatic pop group Il Divo guest starred on a wide-open X Factor semi-final night which saw JLS, Alexandra and Eoghan through to the finals - and Diana fly the white flag and surrender gracefully. With neither Take That nor Same Difference quite singing live, Rhydian gave the live performance of the night. And Rachel's luck finally ran out. Jonathan Ansell, who was the lead singer of G4, has been voted the sexiest man on British TV in 2007. G4 were runners-up in the first series of The X Factor. The X Factor final twelve acts released a single to raise money for the military charity Help For Heroes and the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Fund. Austin Drage's shocking exit from The X FactorWill Young guest-starred on tonight's live show and all feuds aside, gained Simon's appreciation at the end of the show. However, the start of the show saw the somewhat predictable hype over The X Factor Finalist's single Hero for Help Heroes following last week's performance. Hero is set to be one of the fastest selling singles this year, or if you're Simon - "of all time." Anyway, back to the glam and the glitz, it's Disco week! Scott Bruton gets the Big Boot on Big Band night. For possibly the first time in X Factor history, Big Band week really meant Big Band week and hats off to the band for giving us, and the contestants a very enjoyable night. For me, it was the best live show of the series and saw a lot of very good performances. |
