William gets some action in the CaribbeanKate Middleton may not be with William in the Caribbean this time around, but he's still seeing plenty of action! The ship that he is currently serving on, the HMS Iron Duke, participated in a major drug bust in the North Atlantic this week. The HMS Iron Duke intercepted a speedboat transporting cocaine just north of Barbados on Saturday. Prince William was on a helicopter that called in the suspicious boat prior to Iron Duke's pursuit. Britain's Defense Ministry said that members of the US Coast Guard on board the frigate boarded the small speedboat and recovered 900 kilos of cocaine, worth approximately £40 million ($80 million). Commanding Officer Mark Newland stated, "He [Prince William] was in the helicopter on Saturday morning when the search was conducted. He was able to provide surveillance to the team. He's a professional navy officer, he understands the context we're operating in so he's able to help in every way." The HMS Iron Duke will be in the Caribbean until October, performing hurricane relief activities and counter-narcotics duties. Newland has been ordered to involve William in all operations.
