William & Harry make private visit to injured soldiers

Last Friday Princes William and Harry made a quiet visit to Birmingham for a private visit with injured soldiers at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine at Selly Oak hospital. Injured personnel from all branches of the military are sent to the hospital, which also treats civilians, for treatment for injuries received in war. The Prince of Wales visited the hospital in August and suggested his sons also make a visit to the hospital to cheer up the soldiers there.

The princes visited the soldiers and their doctors for 3 hours and left the hospital "very moved".

Chief executive of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust, Julie Moore said of the princes visit, "The presence of both Prince William and Prince Harry brought smiles to the faces of many patients and their families and friends, and we're proud to have hosted them at the trust. They showed a keen and obviously sincere interest in how we care for patients and in the patients themselves, which was so rewarding for everyone."

Last year the princes met with patients at Headley Court Rehabilitation Center before launching their charity City Salute, which raised funds for injured soldiers.
