Prince William to receive medal for Caribbean drug-bust

Prince William's Jubilee medal won't look so lonely on his uniform after the United States Coast Guard will recognize his actions in the Caribbean. Sub-Lieutenant Wales is set to receive the Joint Services Achievement Medal from in recognition for his part as a "spotter" in a Lynx helicopter which guided the US Coast Guard to a speedboat carrying over 900kg of cocaine worth £40million. The Prince, who has recently begun a 3month training stint with the Royal Navy, was onboard the HMS Iron Duke when the Coast Guard for support radioed in for support.

The ship's Captain, Commander Mark Newland said of the event, "I took the decision to involve Prince William in every stage of the operation not only for him to experience every facet of naval operations, but also because I felt, with his Army training, that he would have a lot to contribute and he did."

"William will be thrilled to get a medal," said a royal source. "He and Harry are very competitive and they now have one each for active duty."
