Shayne goes to school

Shayne Ward went back to his old school, St Peter's RC High School, just a few days before The X Factor final.

Shayne was joined by a film crew from The X Factor, teachers, a security guard and four cops trying to keep order.

X Factor judge Louis Walsh was also with Shayne and both were mobbed by students wanting autographs.

Shayne said: "It's just fantastic, absolutely fantastic. It's great to come back to my old school and it is good to see the teachers who helped me so much. I owe them a lot."

Elizabeth Kennedy, the school's head of creative arts, taught Shayne at the school. She said: "He deserves all the success he can get as he really is such a nice young man."

Shayne sang Take Your Mama Out both in the school hall and the dining hall, but he could barely be heard above the screams.

Max Clifford on Shayne

Simon's PR guru, Max Clifford, is tipping Shayne for success.

He said: "Shayne is an exceptional star. He has everything. He is good looking, young and has a tremendous voice.

"Will Young had some of those qualities but he is not as good-looking as Shayne and his voice is not as good.

"Shayne has the potential to be the biggest winner out of all reality television shows ever. He will appeal to that teenage or 20-something market and they're the ones who buy records in this country.

"In some ways he reminds me of Sir Cliff Richard. If he can be as popular for as long as Sir Cliff, he will pocket millions."

Shayne and Kate

The Daily Star reported on Shayne's relationship with Kate Thornton.

It said he had reportedly been visiting Kate's dressing room for pep talks and advice, and they had been told to "rein in" their friendship.

An insider told the Daily Star: "Shayne has gone to see Kate in her dressing room for pep talks and claims she is like this cool big sister. Well, no-one looks at their sister like that.

"Kate’s been told not to favour Shayne so openly in the interests of impartiality but everyone thinks they will become an item after the show finishes."

"He follows her around like a lovesick puppy."

Shayne and Laura

The Sun reported that Shayne has found romance with Laura Conway. His long-term girlfriend Fay will not have been amused.

An X Factor insider said: “Shayne and Laura have been flirting for a few weeks. They get on really well and there’s a real chemistry.

“They had been keeping their kissing and cuddling a secret but when you’re one of four sisters it’s very difficult to keep things quiet.

“Sinead caught them in the act with her phone. She’s been threatening to sell the picture since.”
