Holly Willoughby makes a good start on Xtra FactorHolly Willoughby made a good start in her first Xtra Factor, replacing the self-obsessed Fearne Cotton. Her high point in the first auditions Xtra Factor came as she showed her disappointment when the Satin Dolls, four 17-year-olds, were rejected by all four judges after singing the sort of thing that is probably sung in happy-clappy church services on Sunday mornings. Holly thought they were good singers and went round to see the judges. Dannii thought they were good singers despite their choice of song and suggested they sing Umbrella instead. Simon agreed and told Holly the Satin Dolls had an hour to learn the song and come back. Holly raced off to find the girls. When they auditioned for the second time they got two yes votes but that still wasn't enough. Both Simon and Cheryl had said no. But then one of the girls pleased with Simon to change his mind. Why didn't she choose Cheryl instead? But she was right. Simon did change his mind and the girls had three yes votes and were through to boot camp. "This is the best thing that's ever happened," said one of the group. Could Cornwall now get an act in The X Factor final twelve this year? |
