The X Factor 5 - The Judges' Homes - Louis Walsh and Westlife's Shane Filan welcome the Groups to Ireland

The groups were next to hear where they were heading off to and who their mentor would be. Excitement was clearly not the main feeling in the room as the envelope opened by JLS told them that they would be being whisked off to...Ireland.

It was no surprise then that the groups had already guessed they were being mentored by Louis, fantastic espionage work there Louis.

Feelings were soon lifted, especially for the girls when Louis' sidekick Shane Filan was introduced to the crowd.

Hoping to redeem themselves from their trainwreck of a performance at bootcamp were 4 Instinct whose promising performance of "Rockin' Robin" left Louis confident that "people will like them".

Next up were Girlband who impressed Shane Filan with their rendition of Valerie.

And no strangers to good comments, JLS walked into the room to deliver their plea for a Final 12 place in the shape of their rendition of "No air" and Louis could definitely feel the good vibe between the London lads.

A not so hopeful performance of "Umbrella" was to follow by boyband Priority who had not had the time to practise due to work and distance. Their lack of practise definitely showed and they left the room feeling like they had just destroyed thier chance, and rightfully so.

One of the outstanding performances of the night for me came from girl group Bad Lashes who hadn't impressed Louis in their first audition, but came back with an amazing rendition of Wonderwall, and Shane agreed, branding their performance as "brilliant".

Rival north-eastern girl group Desire were straight after Bad Lashes with their performance of "Shine", although not a brilliant vocal performance Louis thought that "people will like them". Is there ANYBODY in this competition that people won't like Louis?

Tune in tomorrow night (04/10/08) at 6.10pm on ITV1 to hear which contestants have and who hasn't made it through to the live finals.
